Preserve the original before changing anything

Save a dated copy of your own character description, greeting, important dialogue examples, and current story notes. Keep files in a location you control, and verify that you can open them. A screenshot is useful for a setting but awkward as the only record of a long prompt. Plain text is easier to review and adapt.

Character.AI's official export instructions direct web users through Profile Settings, Account, Manage Account & Data, and Export data; the mobile route begins in Profile settings. Follow the current instructions if the interface changes. An export is a preservation step: its availability does not establish that Muah AI or another service can import the resulting format.

Build a small transfer packet

Do not start by pasting an entire conversation. Extract the few facts that make the experience recognizable, in your own words. Distinguish a lasting character trait from something that happened in the most recent scene. Use material you created or have permission to reuse; public access to someone else's character is not a license to copy all of their work.

  • Identity: a fictional adult name, role, and a short personality description.
  • Voice: two short examples showing the preferred tone and response length.
  • Relationship: what the characters know about each other at the starting point.
  • Continuity: established facts, the current setting, and one unresolved event.
  • Preferences: how much narration you want and which choices remain yours.

Rebuild the companion, then introduce the story

In Muah AI, use the relevant character settings for persistent personality and appearance. Keep your scene recap separate from the identity description. Review what is saved before chatting; a character name alone cannot carry the old relationship or backstory into a new service.

An original starting recap could read: ‘We are two fictional adults restoring a lighthouse. Rowan is a patient engineer with dry humor. We agreed to repair the lantern before the autumn storm. The workshop is currently closed while we find a replacement lens. Continue with Rowan suggesting one practical next step; leave my response to me.’ This is enough to establish a useful scene without reproducing hundreds of exchanges.

Check continuity before making a long commitment

Ask the companion to respond in character, change the scene once, and revisit the unresolved task. Note any wrong names, assumptions, or repeated introductions. Correct one source at a time: persistent character instructions for identity, the recap for story history, and the latest message for the next action. A fluent response can still contain an invented detail.

Keep your Character AI setup available while evaluating the alternative. If you plan to cancel a subscription, use the billing channel where you purchased it and retain confirmation. Deleting an account and canceling billing are separate actions; check both workflows rather than assuming one performs the other.

Keep a portable version of the new setup

We favor Muah AI for this adult companion workflow because its documented character controls offer a direct place to refine your reconstruction. After several useful conversations, save the updated prompt and a fresh recap outside the app. Check the official guide before using any reset or backup control. Maintain separate copies of media you want to keep; do not assume a transcript contains every original image or audio file.

Common questions

Can I automatically import my Character AI account into Muah AI?

This guide does not establish automatic cross-service import. Export your data for preservation, then rebuild a character from your own descriptions and a concise recap unless the destination explicitly supports that format.

Will my rebuilt character behave exactly the same?

Different models and settings can produce different behavior. Preserve the identity and style you care about, then adjust through short conversations rather than expecting an exact replica.
